Woodbury girls hockey: Scoring struggles keep Royals winless in 2014
Goals have been hard come by during Woodbury’s five-game slide.
As a team, the Royals (6-16-1, 1-14-1 SEC) had their chances with 36 shots in both of those games. They also had nine power play opportunities against the Wolfpack, going 0-9 and 0-4 against the Bears.
“Right now we are getting plenty of scoring chances but we are struggling to find the back of the net,” Royals coach Chris Lepper said.
Royals goalie Kaelan Geisser played strong in net for both games. She had 25 saves and a.926 save percentage against the Wolfpack. In the loss to the Bears, she stopped 31 shots for an .886 average.
The Royals wrap up their regular season on Saturday with Stillwater (15-6-1, 12-3-1 SEC) at 3 p.m. for Senior Day. Seniors Geisser, Sarah Wahlin, Libby Majerle, Maureen Oien, Mandy McApline and Sarah Gustafson will be honored.
