Woodbury girls hockey: Hard times continue for Royals
The Royals struggles continued last week, with their losing streak extending to seven games.
Woodbury's latest loss came Saturday at the hands of Stillwater, who handed the Royals 3-0 defeat. The loss was, however, the closest game Woodbury played in weeks; prior to the Stillwater game, Woodbury had given up a total of 33 goals in its previous three games.
Details from the Stillwater game were not immediately available.
The loss followed a 9-1 drubbing on Tuesday, Jan. 10, against Cretin-Derham Hall. The Raiders netted four goals in the first period and two in the second period.
Woodbury finally answered in the third when forward Mandy McAlpine scored at 2:55. Erin Goodell assisted on the play.
Cretin went on to score three more goals to end the game.
The losses kept the Royals winless in the Suburban East Conference and stuck in the conference cellar with zero points.
Woodbury, who played Monday against White Bear Lake, continues SEC play this week in a road game against Hastings.
