Woodbury girls basketball: Royals drop conference games to Forest Lake, Cretin

Forest Lake and Cretin-Derham Hall took down the Woodbury girls basketball team in a pair of Suburban East Conference games last week.

Woodbury (6-15; 2-12 SEC) fell 67-42 on Feb. 11, in Forest Lake, then lost 54-39 to Cretin-Derham Hall (13-9; 8-6 SEC) on Friday in Woodbury.

Forest Lake jumped out to a 38-24 halftime lead on the Royals then cruised to the 25-point win.

Elizabeth Edinger led the Royals with a team-high 12 points. Cecile Kieger chipped in nine points. Three players scored in double figures for Forest Lake, led by Emily Peters’ game-high 17 points.

Kayla Bilski scored a team-high 11 points for Woodbury in the loss to Cretin-Derham Hall. Edinger scored eight points and Kieger netted nine points.

Woodbury was at Roseville (17-5; 9-5 SEC) on Tuesday, Feb. 18, after the Bulletin went to print. Next, the Royals play host to Minneapolis Southwest (15-6; 7-1 Minneapolis City) on Wednesday, Feb. 19, before bringing in SEC rival White Bear Lake (20-2; 12-2 SEC) on Friday, Feb. 21.
