Woodbury cross country: Voit leads boys to seventh-place finish at Lakeville invite
The Woodbury boys cross country team put together a seventh-place finish Friday at the 18-team Lakeville North Applejack Invitational at Aronson Park in Lakeville.
Senior Taylor Voit led the Royals with a seventh-place overall finish and a time of 16 minutes, 29 seconds. Senior Nathan Orf finished 20th in 16:52 and junior Nick Wareham placed 25 with a time of 16:57.
Freshman Joe Romain finished the 5-kilometer course in 17:52 and junior Eric Shumaker placed 85th with a time of 17:55.
Rosemount won the meet with 79 points, Centennial finished second with 116 and Lakeville North took third with 129. Woodbury finished with 216 points and finished one point behind sixth-place finisher Shakopee.
The Woodbury girls team finished in 16th place at the meet with one runner cracking the top 35.
Eighth-grader Haley Orf led the Royals with a 31st-place finish and time of 15:27 on the 4-kilometer course. Sophomores Kathleen Danielson and Katelyn Ableidinger finished 84th and 85th, respectively. Danielson had a time of 16:26 and Ableidinger finished in 16:28.
Rounding out the top five for Woodbury were junior Julia Voss, who placed 105th in 17:03 and junior Cat Henning, who placed 111th in 17:14.
Both teams compete Friday in Red Wing.
