Woodbury boys lacrosse: Royals retain "Big Oak Cup" for fourth straight year
The Woodbury boys lacrosse team won the SoWashCo "Big Oak Cup" for the fourth straight year with a 14-5 victory over intra-district and Suburban East Conference rival East Ridge on Monday, May 20.
The cup was created by the Hagen family in 2010 to be a traveling trophy between Woodbury, East Ridge and Park high schools, to be awarded to the team that wins the season series between the three schools.
Woodbury beat Park 10-3 on May 1 and East Ridge topped Park 9-7 back on May 6.
The Royals are 7-4 overall and 6-3 in the SEC on the year, which is good for third place in the conference standings behind White Bear Lake (10-1; 9-0 SEC) and Stillwater (9-3; 7-1 SEC) respectively. East Ridge is now 3-6 and 2-5 in the SEC. Park is 5-5 overall and 4-5 in the SEC.
Woodbury wraps up the regular season this week with a pair on non-conference home games - on Wednesday against Tartan and Friday against Owatonna.
