William Franklin Bunch: Aug. 5, 1935 - July 3, 2013.
William Franklin Bunch, 77, of Woodbury, Minn., died peacefully in his sleep the morning of July 3 after a valiant battle with cancer and other medical conditions.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ella Ruth Bunch; son William and daughter-in-law Julie with grandchildren Samantha and Steve of Woodbury; son Carl of Fort Myers, Fla.; and daughter Ellen with partner Pete of Chicago, Ill.; sister-in-law Clare; nephew Andy Carl and niece Ann; also his sister's children Mark and Lynn.
Preceded in death by his sister Sara and his parents Sydney and William.
Bill was born in Kirksville, Mo. He received a bachelor's, master's, and Ph.D. in music composition from the University of Iowa. Bill worked his whole life doing what he loved most, music and the arts. He was a high school band teacher in Iowa and then a college music professor in Minnesota and Arizona, finishing his career as a dean of fine arts in Georgia, Minnesota, Illinois and Texas. In addition to music and the arts, Bill enjoyed photography, trains, watching baseball, and reading.
Visitation will be at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 1583 Radio Dr., Woodbury, at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 7, with a memorial service to follow at 3 p.m.
