Woodbury High School's band director was named Woodbury Chamber of Commerce's 2013 Educator of the Year.

According to a District 833 newsletter, the winner, Brent Comeau, was nominated by teachers and WHS Principal Linda Plante. Nominations described Comeau as the "Energizer Bunny" and a "master of multitasking."

The nomination also lauded Comeau's rapport with students.

"There is not another course offered at Woodbury High School where a teacher could have the same students every trimester for four years," the release states, quoting the nomination from teachers. "A situation like this is very unique with the music classes. This provides a rare opportunity for a teacher, such as Mr. Comeau, to develop a strong relationship with his students, earning their trust and respect for him."

Comeau will receive the award at the Jan. 25 Woodbury Chamber of Commerce Awards Gala.
