TV's 'Ponch' coming to Woodbury this week

Popular actor Erik Estrada, shown here in a video still from the 2013 film "Finding Faith," will be in Woodbury this week in support of the film.

Erik Estrada, the actor best known for playing the television character "Ponch" in the popular 1970s-80s show "CHiPs," will be coming to Woodbury this week in support of a new film he is starring in.

According to the Five Oaks Community Church website, Estrada will be at the church to discuss the focal point of the film -- Internet safety for children. The film, "Finding Faith," explores an incident involving a teenager abducted by an Internet predator. Estrada, a real-life child rights advocate, takes the lead role in the film as the local sheriff.

The Five Oaks site said the film will be screened at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. Pre-registration is required and a free-will offering is suggested.
