Traffic delays expected during Radio/EB 94 traffic signal project
Work has begun to install a new traffic signal system at the intersection of Radio Drive and the new I-94 eastbound frontage road.
Earlier this week, utility crews began taking, raising and setting the new signal poles and mast arms, and making final connections and testing for the new system.
The installation, which is expected to take about three weeks, will cause minor traffic impacts and lane closures this week and next, Woodbury city officials said Friday.
Major delays are expected during the third week when the switch is made from temporary to permanent traffic signals, as the intersection will operate under all-way stop control.
When the permanent signal system is ready for activation, the temporary signal system will be taken down and the switch will occur, city officials said.
