The following information has been received from university, corporate or family sources.

• Daniel Delaney of Woodbury, a senior at Hill-Murray High School, has been named a 2009 recipient of The Comcast Foundation annual Leaders and Achievers Scholarship. Delaney was honored for his work with Saint Ambrose of Woodbury's Youth Leadership team (Liturgy of the Word for Children), and as Eucharistic minister distributing the Eucharist in his parish; at the Dorothy Day Center, participating in Lobby Day for Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless); as a Summer Stretch teen leader supervising ninth graders who serve the poor and elderly; and volunteering at Ramsey County Nursing Home, Family Place and Goodwill.

He will attend Creighton University in the fall.

• Andrew Conway of Woodbury was named to the College of Visual Arts, St. Paul President's List for the spring 2009 academic semester for having earned a minimum of 3.5 for the semester while carrying at least 15 credit hours.

• Jennifer Greff of Woodbury graduated from Dickinson State University, Dickinson, N.D. with a bachelor of science degree in education, elementary education.

• Lucas Martynec of Woodbury, a senior at Hill-Murray School, has been offered a Heritage Scholarship from Augustana College, Sioux Falls, S.D. The award is based on his academic record, essay, and contributions in school, community and church activities.

• Laura Sward, a 2007 graduate of Woodbury High School, was an honoree at the DePaul University, Illinois College of Commerce freshman/ sophomore Honors Convocation held on campus, Friday, May 8.

Sward was recognized for scholastic excellence by achieving a grade point average placing her in the top 10% of her sophomore class. Students in the top 5 percent percent of the freshman class are recognized in the college, and as a freshman she achieved that honor.

Her goal is to maintain her academic ranking in order to attain membership in Beta Gamma Sigma, an international honor society recognizing academic excellence in the study of business and management. To be eligible, a student must be in the upper 10 percent of the junior or senior class.

• Jonathan Stefely of Woodbury graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. degree in chemistry, on May 17 from the University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Ind. He is the son of Jim and Carolyn Stefely of Woodbury.

Stefely will attend the University of Wisconsin, Madison where he will be a student in the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) and will work on an M.D./PhD degree.

• Ashlee Lichtblau, daughter of James and Carolyn Lichtblau of Cottage Grove, and a member of the Woodbury Church of Christ, has been accepted to Harding University, Searcy, Ark. beginning fall semester 2009 and will be graduating from Park High School in June.

She has been awarded a $16,000 academic scholarship from the university and a $16,000 scholarship from the Sheet Metal Workers International Union.

She plans to major in business management.

• April Marie Ferguson of Woodbury graduated from the College of St. Scholastica on May 10, 2009 with a bachelor of arts degree in organizational behavior and a bachelor of arts degree in social work.

• Jessie Hansen of Woodbury has been initiated into the Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta, a national freshman honorary society for students achieving a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. Hansen is a graduate of New Life Academy.

• The following students from this area have been named to the spring 2009 Dean's List at Northwestern College in St. Paul. The dean's list includes full-time students with a semester grade point average of 3.65 (out of 4.0) or higher. Highest Honors are awarded to students with a GPA of 3.90 - 4.0, High Honors to students with a GPA of 3.75 - 3.89 and Honors to students with a GPA of 3.65 - 3.74.

Lauren A. Bernhagen, daughter of Lisa Bernhagen of Woodbury, with Honors; Katherine A. Moore, daughter of Tom and Jody Moore of Woodbury, with Honors; Jessica R. Nagle of Woodbury, with High Honors; Ashley A. Vikla, daughter of Terry Vikla of Saint Paul, with High Honors; Janna R. Wutke, daughter of John and Diana Wutke of Afton, with High Honors.

• John Potter, a resident of Woodbury, has been admitted to Concordia University, St. Paul for the fall 2009 semester. Potter was awarded the University scholarship. This achievement provides a total of $6,000 in scholarship funds.

• Local student Ashely Patterson of Woodbury has graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a bachelor's degree in film and video. She is a graduate of Perpich Center for Arts Education high school in Golden Valley.

• Lisa Clinton of Woodbury was one of 11 Girl Scouts from the Twin Cities area recently awarded a Girl Scout Gold Award scholarship recognizing her efforts to exemplify the highest ideals of Girl Scouting.

• Juliann Leifeld of Woodbury recently became a member of Phi Beta Kappa at Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa.

Phi Beta Kappa is the oldest and largest academic honor society in the United States. Candidates of the society are nominated for election by their chapters and cannot apply for membership.

Leifeld was one of 16 students selected by the Drake chapter.
