The following information has been received from family and school sources.

• Nicole Elbert has been accepted at St. Thomas University, St. Paul for the 2009 fall term. She has been awarded the St. Thomas academic scholarship and the St. Thomas award both totalling $50,000. Elbert, a senior at Woodbury High School, is the daughter of Carla and Tom Elbert of Woodbury. Her major is un-decided but she is interested in biology and architecture.

• Charlie Nocker of Woodbury was named to the fall semester 2008 Dean's List at Georgetown University, Washington, D.C. To be included on the list, a student must earn a 3.50 or higher grade point average. Nocker is a freshman at the university.

• Lauren Polski, daughter of John and Terri Polski, was awarded Dean's List Honors at the University of Minnesota, Institute of Technology, school of engineering as an incoming freshman. Polski was a 2008 honors graduate at Woodbury High School.

• Alexandra Burns of Woodbury has been accepted for admission to the 2009-10 academic year at Luther College, Decorah, Iowa. The university has offered her a Presidential Scholarship.

• Elizabeth Eccher, daughter of David and Mary Eccher of Woodbury, has been named to the Dean's List of Macalester College for academic achievement during the fall semester of the 2008-2009 school year. A graduate of Hill-Murray High School, Eccher is a sophomore at the college. To be eligible for the list a student must have achieved a semester grade point average of at least 3.75.

• Kathleen Bauer, daughter of Mark Bauer of White Bear Lake and Diane Bauer of Woodbury, was inducted into the Omega Chapter of Delta Epsilon Sigma (DES) Feb. 15 at the College of Saint Benedict, St. Joseph. Bauer is a junior biology major at the college. DES, a national Catholic honor society for women, is considered CSB's highest honor for a student. Applicants must maintain a 3.9 grade-point average or higher on a 4.0 scale, and must be very involved in the community through volunteer and extracurricular activities.

• Student news from North Dakota State University, Fargo includes:

Janet Marie Fritzhuspen of Woodbury has earned a master of arts degree following the fall 2008 semester. She majored in speech communication.

Students from Woodbury and Afton who have been placed on the fall 2008 Dean's List for having earned a 3.50 grade point average or higher while enrolled in at least 12 class credits are: Elizabeth Dentinger, psychology; Kelsey Kolars, agricultural and biosystems engineering; and Jeanna M. Sommers, emergency management.

• According to information provided by the college of communication at DePaul University, Chicago, Ill., Piper Caldwell of Woodbury graduated from the university, cum laude, with a bachelor of arts degree.

• Jonathan Stefely of Woodbury has been named to the Dean's List in the University of Notre Dame's college of science for outstanding scholarship during the fall 2008 semester. Students who achieve dean's honor at the university represent the top 30 percent of students in their college. Stefely is a senior chemistry major.

• Claire L. Grasse, a 2007 graduate of Woodbury High School, was named to the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management fall semester 2008 Dean's List. Students named to the list are recognized for outstanding academic achievement by earning a 3.66 grade point average or higher for the semester. Grasse is majoring in accounting at the school. She is the daughter of Diane and Peter Grasse of Woodbury.

• According to information provided by St. Croix Preparatory Academy, Stillwater, Caleb Zimmerman and Torri Nelson of Afton have earned honors for academic achievement in the second quarter of the school year.
