Starzynski fundraising benefit set for July 27
A pulled pork sandwich dinner and silent auction fundraising event will be held to assist the family of infant Abbi Starzynski of Woodbury. The family is dealing with large medical bills due to the baby's debilitating illness.
When Abbi became 10-months old on March 19, her parents noticed her left eyelid started to droop.
On April 7, she started having severe breathing difficulties. Abbi was admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) at the University of Minnesota Children's Hospital, where she underwent treatment and tests. She was also seen at the Mayo Clinic. No significant findings were derived from tests.
Abbi stopped breathing on her own on May 7 and was in PICU until June 24. At press time she was back in her home. There is still no definitive diagnosis for her condition.
The benefit will take place Sunday, July 27 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Woodbury Lutheran Church, 7380 Afton Road.
Dinner cost is $10. Tickets will be available for purchase at Woodbury Lutheran before and during the event.
Persons wishing to donate items to the silent auction are asked to call Becky Martini at (651) 702-1107 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org by July 14.
