Woodbury Minnesota 8420 City Centre Drive 55125

Woodbury residents awakened Friday to the unusual – or, at least unnerving – sight of several inches of snow in their yards.

According to the National Weather Service, the area received 5 inches of snow from the spring storm that moved in Thursday and dumped heavy levels of snow across parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin into Friday morning.

The snow, which had tapered off in Woodbury by 8:30 a.m., added up much higher in other areas of the state. Forest Lake recorded 11 inches, while Superior, Wis., received more than 17 inches of snow by 7 a.m.

The NWS said it’s possible an additional 1-3 inches could still fall today as the storm diminishes.
