East Ridge pole vault camp
Community Education summer camps
South Washington County Schools Community Education is sponsoring summer sports camps and clinics for boys and girls in grades K-12. Camps and clinics include strength and conditioning, basketball, soccer, football, golf, tennis, dodgeball, cheerleading, dance and physical education games (only elementary ages). Various Skyhawks Sports Camps are also available. Camps are offered by varsity coaches at all three high schools in District 833. Camps are held at various high schools and middle schools throughout the school district. Classes begin June 9 and run through Aug. 8. Cost is $20-$150 per session. Woodbury girls lacrosse program launching
Woodbury United Lacrosse will be offering a 7 and under program starting June 5th for boys and girls. Registration is $75 and a US Lacrosse Membership $25. This clinic will run for 8 weeks on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. Gender specific sticks, helmets, mouth guards and gloves required. Register at Woodburyunitedlax.com
East Ridge youth tennis camps
East Ridge Athletic Association is offering youth tennis camps. The first camp will be Monday to Thursday, June 23-26, and offered by East Ridge head coach Jon Rydberg, a PTR-certified teaching professional, and the Raptors girls tennis team. It is open to boys and girls ages 8-15 of all abilities. It will be from 9 a.m. to noon daily. Cost: $140.
The second camp will be Tuesday to Friday, July 8-11, and led by East Ridge head coach Suzie Heideman, a PTR-certified teaching professional, and the East Ridge boys tennis team. It’s open to girls and boys ages 5-12 of all abilities. It will be from 10 a.m. to noon. Cost: $95. Registering for both camps will cost $225, a $10 savings. The camps are open to youth from all area schools and communities. There are about 10 spots remaining in each camp. Summer running clinic
Pete Wareham, head cross country coach at the University of St. Thomas, is offering a summer running clinic for Woodbury kids that is offered to any runner, seventh thru 12th grade, who is planning on participating in either boys or girls high school cross country in the fall of 2014. The clinic will be offered twice a week beginning in June and run thru the end of July. The clinic will take place at Woodbury High School. The clinic format for each session will include a topic of the day and also include a group workout/training run which will be supervised by the clinic instructor. All participants will receive a personal training program for summer training. All students who are interested in participating in cross country in the fall are encouraged to participate in this summer clinic. All sessions start at 8:00am on Mondays and Wednesdays. Head Coach Tara Schubring will be running a summer skills camp for ages 10-14 and 15-18 July 14-17. East Ridge volleyball Summer Skills Academy
The East Ridge Athletic Association and East Ridge High School girls volleyball program invites you to register for the ERAA/ERHS Summer Skills Academy for girls entering grades three through nine. The Skills Academy will focus on all aspects of the game emphasizing fundamentals. Players will be skill-tested and placed in groups of similar age and volleyball ability. Players with more experience receive an opportunity to practice position specific skills, hone in on areas of needed improvement and receive instruction and training from the ERHS team of coaches. All skills will be covered including passing, setting, hitting, digging, blocking, and serving as well as team defensive and offensive systems. The Skills Academy includes eight dates, Mondays and Wednesdays from June 9 to July 9, excluding the week of July 4, from 4-6 p.m. at the East Ridge gym. ERHS Fall Sports Registration Opening in July
East Ridge High School’s Fall Sports Online Registration will open on July 15 . To register your athlete for MSHSL Fall Sports, please go to the East Ridge High School Website. On the home page under ‘Hot Topics’, click on the link ‘Fall Sports Registration will open on July 15th’. This link will take you to our athletic webpage with important registration information. Once you have read the information, you will be able to click on a link to the actual registration site. This site will have instructions regarding how to Log in. If you will need financial assistance or your student will be a team manager or you will exceed the family maximum fee payment of $475, please follow the special instructions at the bottom of the webpage. Please be sure that your athlete has a sports physical on file at East Ridge before you register and that it will not expire before 11/22/14. The sports physical is good for three years from the exam date. Registration will close on July 30.
East Ridge Soccer Club Lil Raptors training
East Ridge Soccer Club will be holding three, four-week Lil Raptors Training Academy sessions for ages U5-U8. The cost of each session is $65 and includes a T-shirt. The program will be run by professional trainers at local soccer fields in Woodbury and Cottage Grove. Registration is open on the ERAAmn.com Soccer Developmental page. Session 2 is June 7, 14, 21 and 28. Session 3 is Aug. 2, 9, 16 and 23.
East Ridge girls basketball open gym for grades 4-12
East Ridge High School is holding an open gym for girls basketball players in grades 4-12. This is a summer-long session that will provide an opportunity for players to get into the gym and work on basketball skills on their own. Supervision by the East Ridge staff will be on hand at all times to provide guidance for these sessions. The open gym will be Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, June 17-July 31, from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The camp will not meet week of July 4.
East Ridge girls basketball summer shooting workouts
East Ridge is holding summer shooting and workouts for middle school-aged girls on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from June 10 to July 31 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. The basketball shooting workouts are designed for East Ridge girls entering sixth, seventh, and eighth grades next fall and will consist of repetitive game shots from game spots at game speeds, along with the fundamentals of free throw shooting. The workouts will consist of various competitive game-like situations and will be led by the East Ridge girls basketball coaching staff. Players attending will receive an East Ridge basketball T-shirt.
Football University Twin Cities camp at East Ridge June 27
Football University’s Twin Cities football camp will take place June 27-29 at East Ridge High School in Woodbury. Football University is an invitation-only, one-of-a-kind football training experience focusing on developing and enhancing the playmaking ability and skill of elite-level athletes in 6th to 11th grade. The training is provided by the NFL coaches and players. Although FBU does have an invitation-only policy, athletes are strongly encouraged to nominate themselves at http://www.footballuniversity.org.
East Ridge football registration open
Youth from the local area will fine tune their skills during an exciting football season with the East Ridge Athletic Association Football (ERAAF) program.
The season runs from early August through late October, and practice times and dates will be available closer to the start of the season .
Groupings including Kindergarten Flag, 1st/2nd Grade Flag and 3rd Grade thru 8th Grade Tackle.
Youth ages 7 to 12 are invited to participate in the inaugural - - Run it, Bike it, Du it. Kids Duathlon at Ojibway Park Saturday, June 28. Participants will bike a 3K course and run approximately 1 mile along the trails of Ojibway Park and the well-marked Ojibway Park Drive. All participants must bring their own bike, wear athletic shoes and a well-fitting bike helmet. Register online or call (651) 714-3583.The fee is $25 per participant. Ages: 7-9 will start at 8 a.m. and end by 9:30 a.m. Ages: 10-12 will start at 9:45 a.m. and end by 11 a.m.

District #833 athletic registration open
District #833 Community Education is currently now taking registrations for its Fall Athletic Programs. The Offerings include: Competitive Football (for 7 & 8 grade boys), Competitive Volleyball (for 7 & 8 grade girls) and Recreational Girls Tennis (for 6-8 grade girls).
Football & Volleyball play in the SEC Middle School Conference. Practices areMonday – Friday from 2:45-4:45pm for both football and volleyball. (Football practice schedule for August will be handed out by coaches) Football runs August 13th through October 14th. Volleyball runs September 2nd through October 14th.
