ERAA softball to elect board positionsEast Ridge Athletic Association softball is holding elections for board officers at its annual open meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 17. The meeting will take place from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the East Ridge High School Media Center South. First on the agenda will be voting on the open board positions, followed by the general meeting. The open board positions include: Softball Director, Competitive Director, Recreational Director, Treasurer and Secretary. Hamline University baseball camp starts Jan. 11Hamline University is hosting a six week baseball camp starting Jan. 11. Hamline head coach Jim Weyandt will direct the program in conjunction with U.S. Baseball Academy. Classes are available for players in grades 1-12 and are limited to six players per coach. Sessions are offered in advanced hitting, pitching, catching, fielding and baserunning. Proceeds from the program will benefit amateur baseball in the St. Paul area. Space is limited. Hale to the Bird 5K fundraiser run Thanksgiving morningThe fourth Hale to the Bird 5K run, benefiting the Friends In Need Food Shelf, will be held 9 a.m. Thanksgiving day (Thursday, Nov. 28) at Hamlet Park in Cottage Grove. The race is open everyone no matter what age or skill - the event is for both walkers and runners. Cost is $20 before Nov. 8 and $30 after Nov. 8, including on race day. Proceeds of the event go to The Friends In Need Food Shelf.
