Woodbury boys hockey Youth Night
The Woodbury boys hockey team is holding its Youth Night event on Thursday, Dec. 12 when they take on Park. The junior varsity game starts at 5:20 p.m. and the varsity game is at 7:30 p.m. Youth players wearing hockey jerseys will get in for free and are eligible for prizes that will be drawn during the game. There will also be prizes given out for the best “Go Royals” signs.
Woodbury AA Bantam pancake fundraiser Dec. 14
The Woodbury Area Hockey Club (WAHC) AA Bantam team is holding a pancake
fundraiser at O’Malley’s on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 9-11 a.m. Cost for the all-you-can-eat pancakes and juice or coffee is $8. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
Sport shack holiday saleDue to the temporary closing of the Sport Shack, located at Bielenberg Sports Center, the Woodbury Sports Foundation will hold their Holiday Sale at the Woodbury Athletic Association Building, 2630 Ojibway, on Saturday, Dec. 14 and 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the warehouse. This is your chance to purchase quality East Ridge and Woodbury high school apparel. They will be selling sweatshirts, fleece, sweatpants, mittens, t-shirts, hockey hoods, 1/4 zips and much more. They also carry youth sizes. Spirit wear make great gifts for grandparents too.
Woodbury Royals Booster Club selling Christmas treesThrough Dec. 15, the Royals Booster Club will be selling Fraser Fir trees to raise money for students participating in activities and athletics at Woodbury High School. The lot, located at Woodbury High School, will sell only the highest rated trees, meaning the softest, longest lasting needles and picture perfect pyramid shape. The trees sold at this tree lot were grown locally by B&J Evergreen in Clear Lake. Tree lot hours of operation are weekends from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and weekdays from 5-8 p.m. Please contact Vice President of Royals Booster Club Pernell Glover at 334-301-0076 for more information.
ERAA softball to elect board positionsEast Ridge Athletic Association softball is holding elections for board officers at its annual open meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 17. The meeting will take place from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the East Ridge High School Media Center South. First on the agenda will be voting on the open board positions, followed by the general meeting. The open board positions include: Softball Director, Competitive Director, Recreational Director, Treasurer and Secretary. Hamline University baseball camp starts Jan. 11Hamline University is hosting a six week baseball camp starting Jan. 11. Hamline head coach Jim Weyandt will direct the program in conjunction with U.S. Baseball Academy. Classes are available for players in grades 1-12 and are limited to six players per coach. Sessions are offered in advanced hitting, pitching, catching, fielding and baserunning. Proceeds from the program will benefit amateur baseball in the St. Paul area. Space is limited.
