'Speak up for gifted legislation' workshop April 9 at Royal Oaks
The Minnesota Council for Gifted and Talented East Metro Chapter
(Woodbury, Cottage Grove, Stillwater, Lake Elmo, Maplewood, Inver Grove Heights, Oakdale, North St. Paul and South St. Paul) is holding a workshop titled "Speal up for gifted legislation" on Thursday, April 9.
The free event will held from 7 to 9 p.m. at Royal Oaks Elementary School, 7335 Steeple View Road, Woodbury. RSVPs are requested.
Topics at the workshop for parents and professionals will include practical tips to influence public policy
Participants will have the opportunity to meet with elected officials to:
Learn how to better tell your story to state legislators to help in influencing state policy and maintain funding for gifted education.
Learn about gifted education policy changes that occurred during the 2008 Legislative session.
Better understand issues regarding gifted education to be addressed by the MCGT Public Policy committee in 2009 as well as potential gifted education policy changes.
