Registration is now open for South Washington County School District 833 Community Education Aquatics community programs.
Featured classes include Spring Swimming Lessons, Lifeguard Training, Synchronized Swimming and specialty classes.
Spring Swimming Lessons
The spring session of swim lessons begin in March and run through the end of May . Classes are offered at Cottage Grove and Lake junior high schools.
The Aquatics program offers a variety of class levels including semi- and private lessons.
The cost for the March to May session is: $39 for preschool level; $43 for levels 2A to level 6; $66 for semi-private lessons; and $105 for private lessons.
Participants will pretest with a 300-yard swim and a 10 pound brick retrieval. Students will learn and demonstrate water rescue skills, CPR, AED and First Aid skills. Attendees must be age 15 by the last day of the course. Class will be held Monday March 31 through April 4, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The cost of $198 includes a copy of the Red Cross Lifeguard Training book.
Classes will be held at Lake Junior High School on Mondays, March 10 through May 5 from 7:20 to 8 p.m. The cost is $45.
Specialty classes including Sports and Games Try-Its for Brownie Girl Scouts; Swimming Badge for Jr. Girl Scouts; Aquanauts for Webelo Boy Scouts; Lifeguard Review; and CPR-PR and AED Review are more of the offerings available.
