SE Area YMCA names 'Y Partners' chair
The Southeast Area YMCA has announced that Kelly Monkman will lead YMCA fundraising efforts for the 2008 "Y Partners" campaign.
Annually, the YMCA raises funds to provide financial assistance to people of all ages who otherwise could not afford YMCA memberships or programs. Y Partners provides people in need access to child care, youth sports, teen activities, camp opportunities and much more.
Funds raised through the Southeast Area YMCA stay in the local community, to address critical needs on the local level. Financial assistance is granted based on need and availability of funds.
The Southeast YMCA plans to raise $90,000 this year under Monkman's leadership.
Monkman has volunteered for the YMCA and served on the YMCA Community board for the past four years. He is also involved with the Woodbury Chamber of Commerce as a board member and past president.
He is an active member of the Woodbury Lion's Club and a past president. Currently, he serves on the Woodbury Community Foundation Board.
Monkman is the president of Monkman and Associates, which opened in 1990, and he resides in Woodbury with his family.
