Ryskoski one of four top candidates in District 196
District 834 Superintendent Keith Ryskoski is one of four candidates who will be interviewed for the top job in the Apple Valley-Rosemount school District 196.
He is among two current superintendents and two district employees are still in the running for the top job in ISD 196.
The District 196 board chose Lakeville superintendent Gary Amoroso and Ryskoski along with elementary education director Julie Olson and teaching and learning director Jane Berenz at their meeting Monday night.
Amoroso has been superintendent in Lakeville since 2001. Before that he was superintendent for five years in Pewaukee, Wis. He was also a district director and secondary school principal in Wisconsin.
Ryskoski has been in Stillwater since 2005. Before that he was Stillwater's director of administrative services and technology for four years. He worked 10 years as a middle school principal in different districts.
Berenz has been District 196's director of teaching and learning since 2004. She spent four years as elementary education director before that and was a principal for three years following a career teaching in the district.
Olson succeeded Berenz as elementary education director. She spent 18 years before that as an elementary school principal and has taught in the district.
There were 20 applicants to replace retiring superintendent John Currie.
