Ritchie to keynote DFL family picnic June 22
Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie is scheduled to present the keynote address at the fifth annual "Family Picnic for Senate District 56 Democrats" on Monday, June 22 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Tartan Park in Lake Elmo.
Ritchie is expected to update picnic attendees on the 2008 recount process in the Coleman/Franken U.S. Senate race.
He will share the podium with Minnesota House Speaker Margaret Anderson Kelliher, State Auditor Rebecca Otto, state representatives Julie Bunn and Marsha Swails and State Sen. Kathy Saltzman.
Others slated to attend include DFL candidates for Minnesota governor: Matt Entenza, Susan Gaertner, Steve Kelley, Paul Thissen and Tom Bakk.
The community is invited to purchase advance tickets online at $9 each (age 5 and under are free) at www.sd56.org. A ticket covers a full picnic meal and an evening of live music, kids' activities and face painting, and an evening with DFL friends and colleagues.
