Report: Woodbury No. 1 in state for job seekers

If you're out of work, there's no better place to come in Minnesota than Woodbury, according to a recent report.

Woodbury topped the list of best places in Minnesota for job seekers, according to the consumer advocacy website Nerdwallet.com.

The report cites Woodbury's 10.1 percent growth in "the working-age population" between 2009 and 2011 and lists Woodwinds Health Campus, Ecowater Systems and Woodbury Senior Living as top employers in the city. Woodbury's median household income, accoridng to Nerdwallet, is $92,780.

Cottage Grove also ranked in the Top 10 for job seekers in the state.

Nerdwallet researched U.S. census data for growth, median household income, monthly homeowner costs and unemployment in determining its rankings, according to the site. 

The Top 10 cities in Minnesota, according to the list were:

1. Woodbury

2. Moorhead

3. Shakopee

4. Rochester

5. Mankato

6. Lakeville

7. Cottage Grove

8. Richfield

9. Owatonna

10. Andover
