The all-way stop signs at Radio Drive and Military Road will soon be replaced with the $1.25 million feature that finishes off repaving work that took place last summer.

Full intersection closure begins Monday, Aug. 11 and ends Aug. 29 before school starts.

Radio Drive sees about 7,000 vehicles a day through the north-south route, while Military Road gets about 5,000 cars between east and west, according to Washington County figures.

The project was designed with expansion plans in the future.

“Long term, this will be a four-lane roadway,” Engineer Cory Slagle said of Radio Drive, but added it wouldn’t be any sooner than 10 years down the road.

Development has already begun taking shape in the southern part of Woodbury as Bielenberg Gardens shopping center gets underway just one mile north of the intersection.

Stage two of construction will close Military Road west of Radio Drive from September to mid-October. From then until mid-November the eastern portion will close before the entire project is done at the end of November.
