While it was a good night for one player, it wasn't all it could be for the Woodbury boys basketball team as the Royals fell to Owatonna, 68-65, on a night where senior forward Nick Quicksell joined the team's 1,000-point club.

Quicksell entered the game with needing just six points to earn the milestone and scored a team-high 19 in the contest.

However, the non-conference visitors took the overall victory by holding off their hosts for a three-point victory that snapped Woodbury's three-game winning streak.

Quicksell's frontcourt comrade, Joe Rizzardi, chipped in 18 points, but Owatonna took a 33-30 halftime lead and would make that margin hold after the final 18 minutes to head home with the triumph.

The loss dropped Woodbury to 6-11 overall as the Royals, 4-6 in the Suburban East Conference, are scheduled to travel to Hastings on Tuesday night. If WHS tops the Raiders, it would share a sixth-place standing in the conference with Hastings and even the season series between the two schools.
