Learn about the importance of fall prevention and easy steps you can take to reduce your risk of falling on Tuesday, Sept. 16 from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Events include demonstrations, screenings, speakers and experts that will help you "Stand Up and Be Strong."
Sponsored by a grant from the Minnesota Falls Prevention Initiative (MNFPI) the free event will take place at Central Park, 8595 Central Park Place in Woodbury.
The schedule includes: check-in, screenings, sign-up and refreshments from 8:30 to 9 a.m.; "Stand Up & Be Strong!" from 9 to 9:45 a.m. to assess components of balance and participate in two simple activities to keep you strong; File of Life packets to keep your medical and contact information in case of an emergency from 9:45 to 10 a.m. (bring a list of your current prescriptions); and visit with experts and attend screenings from10 a.m. to noon.
