Power outage strikes thousands in, around Woodbury

Thousands of Woodbury residents were without power this afternoon.

According to Xcel Energy, a power outage affecting Woodbury, Afton and St. Paul was affecting 6,118 customers. The outage began at 3:31 p.m. Thursday, according to Xcel.

Power was expected to be restored by 5:01 p.m., according to the utility company. A call seeking information about the outage was not immediately returned.
