Postpartum depression discussion at Trinity Presbyterian Church
The Mental Health and Wellness Committee of Trinity Presbyterian Church will host featured speaker Renee Berthiaume presenting discussion about postpartum depression on Monday, Sept. 22, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The free event is open to the public and will be held at the church, 2125 Tower Drive, Woodbury.
Berthiaume, B.S., R.N., will discuss mood disturbance during and after pregnancy, risk factors and how to recognize the difference between the "baby blues" and the more serious illness of postpartum depression.
She is a 34-year veteran of the mental health field, developed the mental health clinic at St. Joseph's Hospital in 1997, and continues to work there and at a similar clinic at St. John's Hospital.
The Mental Health and Wellness Committee provides educational opportunities, information and resources for those seeking assistance with issues of mental health and overall wellbeing. It holds free and open meetings on the fourth Monday of every month at the church.
