Woodbury/Peaceful Grove United Methodist Church will host trainer Darleen Simmons from the St. Paul Ramsey County Department of Public Health. She will present "Applying Wakanheza Principles in Public Places" on Saturday, April 18 from 10 a.m. to noon at the church's Woodbury campus, 7465 Steepleview Road.

There is no charge for the event.

The Wakanheza Project organization provides training to help individuals respond in situations of abuse or confrontation such as when a child and parent are having a meltdown in a public place.

Training gives simple, comfortable, and positive actions you can take to help in public situations.
