Police conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle at 1:40 a.m. July 17 at Tower Drive and Valley Creek Road. During the stop, the officer noticed at open bottle of Jagermeister behind the driver’s seat. The driver, a Stillwater man, admitted to possessing a marijuana pipe in the center console. A passenger who had an open bottle of vodka and pot stashed in a backpack admitted to drinking. His blood-alcohol level was 0.15. The driver and passenger were both cited for underage consumption, possession of small amount of marijuana in a motor vehicle and open container.

A Cottage Grove man reported July 17 that he had been struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle. He said the crash, which was reported more than five hours after it occurred, may have happened along Century Avenue. The man sustained minor scrapes and was headed to urgent care.

An officer who witnessed suspicious activity July 18 outside Cub Foods, 8432 Tamarack Village, stopped a pedestrian walking alongside a vehicle. The pedestrian, a Newport man, was released. The vehicle he had been walking beside came back as stolen. The owner’s son, also of Newport, had allegedly stolen her vehicle. The case was turned over to Newport police.

A St. Paul woman reported July 18 that her 17-year-old daughter had been the victim of lewd conduct two days earlier. The girl was at the Stonemill Farms community pool, where a 4-year-old untied the girl’s swimsuit. Two adult males in the pool laughed at the incident, making the girl uncomfortable. The mother wanted the incident documented by police.

Workers at Walmart, 10240 Hudson Road, reported July 18 that a woman was in custody for shoplifting. Loss prevention staff had watched the woman conceal two bras and cosmetics under her purse, while filling the cart with groceries she purchased. In an interview with police the woman said she had forgotten about the other items and was going to turn around and re-enter the store. She was cited for theft.

Police learned July 18 that a man staying at the Red Roof Inn had an outstanding first-degree burglary warrant for his arrest. Officers went to the man’s room, where his girlfriend answered the door. She said she hadn’t seen him all day. Police were able to track the approximate location of the man’s cellphone, which indicated it was near the Red Roof. A police K-9 unit eventually located the man, a Stillwater resident, hiding in thick brush near the motel. He was arrested without incident and jailed in Stillwater.

A Woodbury woman reported July 19 that her girlfriend had assaulted her. The suspect, a Minneapolis woman, said the incident stemmed from an encounter the previous night at a Minneapolis strip club, where they met a woman the alleged victim had an affair with. On July 19, the couple encountered a woman at a restaurant that the suspect had an affair with. Police determined that both women were mutual aggressors in the Woodbury fight; neither pressed charges against the other.

An Afton woman reported July 19 that she had befriended a married man while working out at Xpereince Fitness, 1555 Queens Drive. The man abruptly stopped working out there, prompting the woman to check in. The man said he quit because a front desk worker there became jealous after seeing him talk to the Afton woman. The Afton woman reported receiving late-night calls from blocked numbers and feared for her personal property.

A resident in the 1700 block of Donegal Drive reported July 19 that the screen on a window at his home had been deliberately torn. No entry was made to the home.

A St. Paul woman reported July 20 that her vehicle was broken into at Woodbury Theatre, 1470 Queens Drive, while she was seeing movie. A window was smashed out and a diaper bag containing a Mexican passport was stolen.

Police responded July 21 to a home in the 700 block of Martha Lane for a family disturbance. The incident included the man confronting his parents and threatening to burn down their house. The man threatened his father with a chair, which prompted the father to wield a chair of his own in response. The man also threatened to kick in children’s teeth. Police arrived to find the man being pushed toward the street by his father. No arrests were made; the man was taken away by neighbor.
