Park track & field: Wolfpack host Park Invitational
The Park girls and boys track and field teams hosted the eight-team Park Invitational on April 25. The Wolfpack girls earned fifth place with 677 points, while the boys took sixth place with 619 points. The Mankato West girls (946.5) and boys (974.5) won their respective meets.
For the Park girls, Katelyn Floysand won the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 48.58 seconds in the finals and earned third place in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.07.
In the 1600-meter run, Rebekah Schulte and Cameron Anderson earned second and fourth, respectively. Schulte had a time of 5 minutes, 44.19 seconds. Anderson ran the mile in 5:56.97. Schulte was also fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:37.84, just ahead of teammate Jaclyn Glazier, who was fifth in 2:39.84.
In addition, Park’s McKenzie Greeder placed second in the pole vault, clearing a height of 8 feet. Hannah Schwartz earned third place in the discus throw with a heave of 100 feet, 8 inches and third place in the shot put with a mark of 31 feet, 7.5 inches. Ciara Gregory finished in fifth place in the 200-meter run with a time of 27.19 and placed seventh in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.34. Also, Isabelle DeGeus was eighth in the 200 with a time of 27.66 and McKenzie Greeder was 10th for the Wolfpack in the high jump, clearing 4 feet, 6.0 inches.
For the Park boys, Evan Bonneson won the 1600-meter run in a time of 4 minutes, 46.25 seconds. Connor Gabbert took eighth in the 1600, with a time of 5:05.63. Bonneson also placed second in the 800, with a time of 2:08.12.
Park’s Charles Ruffin looked strong in the hurdle events. Ruffin finished in third place in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 17.67 and took third in the 300-meter hurdles in 45.80.
In the jumping events Brandyn Tulloch earned third place in the triple jump with a mark of 39 feet, 10 inches and took eighth place in the long jump with a distance of 18 feet, 6 inches. Also, Ryan Tolkinen took fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 39 feet, 3.50 inches.
In addition, Michael Griffin placed sixth in the high jump, clearing 5 feet, 3 inches, took 10th place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.71 and was 10th in the long jump with a leap of 17 feet, 2.5 inches, while Park’s Jacob Cihlar and Hunter Burbank took seventh and eighth, respectively in the discus with throws of 106-02 and 99-07 and Briar Tillery placed eighth in the 3200-meter run with a time of 10:35.33.
