Overnight storms knock out power in Woodbury

The second power outage in less than 24 hours -- this one brought about by an overnight thunderstorm that packed high winds -- left more than 1,000 Woodbury customers without power on Friday morning.

According to Xcel Energy's outage map, the highest cluster of outages was grouped around neighborhoods surrounding the Valley Creek Road-Radio Drive intersection. More outages were reported around Radio Drive south of Valley Creek Road down to Bailey Road.

The site does not indicate when power is expected to be restored.

Comcast also reported communications lines down in the same area near Valley Creek Road and Radio Drive. Those services could be restored by 10 a.m., according to Comcast.
