Operation Christmas Child
Woodbury Lutheran Church will be a local collection site for the Samaritan's Purse organization's "Operation Christmas Child" Nov. 17 - 24.
Local volunteers are asked to collect gifts such as toys, learning supplies, candy, clothing, hygiene items and a letter of encouragement and pack them into shoeboxes to be sent to children in more than 90 countries suffering from natural disaster, war, terrorism, disease, famine, and poverty. Complete shoebox packing instructions are available at www.samaritanspurse.org.
"We are so excited because these will be going to children who have very little and often have never received a gift before," said Laurel Mills and Bev Manship, Woodbury drop-off site coordinators. Box donations will be accepted at the church, 7380 Afton Road in Woodbury, on Monday, Nov. 17 through Friday, Nov. 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturday, Nov. 22 through Monday, Nov. 24 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
