One person injured in plane crash at Lake Elmo airport
The pilot of a single-engine airplane that lost power and crashed Saturday in Lake Elmo appeared to have non-life threatening injuries, Washington County Sheriff's Department officials confirmed.
Shortly before noon on Saturday witnesses near the Lake Elmo Airport reported the aircraft lost power during take off from a runway and crash landed on the grass area west of the runway.
The aircraft was moderately damaged and appeared to have remained up right, sheriff's deputies said in a press release.
The aircraft was occupied by the pilot only. Washington County Sheriff's deputies, Bayport Fire fighters responded to the scene. The pilot was transported to Lakeview Hospital.
The Federal Aviation Administration was notified and responded to the scene.
