One more building approved at Crossroads Commerce
Crossroads Commerce Center will soon add its sixth building, now that final approval from city officials was given Wednesday.
The proposal to build more office/showroom space in a 37,832 square-foot building was approved by the Woodbury Planning Commission Feb. 19 and by City Council last night.
The center, which already has five buildings, is almost at capacity, said David Johnson, one of the owners and developers of Crossroads Properties.
"The interest that we've had has been very high," he said. "We're running out of space."
The sixth building will be located north of Commerce Drive, south of Hudson Road and west of Rivertown Drive.
It'll have room for 16 spaces at about 2,300 square feet each, Johnson said.
Tenants who've expressed interest in renting space include a day care facility, fitness group and office users, he added.
The first Crossroads Commerce Center building was built five years ago, after council approved a total of 212,000 square feet of office/showroom floor area in seven buildings.
The construction of the new building will join nearby commercial activity of another multi-tenant space south of Commerce Drive near the SuperTarget.
City Planner Eric Searles also said more construction activity in the area will soon begin on the new McDonald's - also located near SuperTarget - which was approved last fall.
