Nuclear engineering expert to speak at Rotary Club meeting Feb. 19
Mike Sellman, recently retired president and CEO of Nuclear Management Company (NMC) will speak at the weekly meeting of the Rotary Club of Woodbury on Thursday Feb 19.
NMC operates nuclear plants in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and Michigan.
Sellman earned an undergraduate degree in physics from the University of Minnesota and a master's degree in nuclear engineering from Catholic University. He will speak on the advantages of nuclear energy in providing for today's energy needs.
His career has spanned working at Northern States Power Company (NSP), rising to the position of plant manager at Prairie Island Nuclear Plan, working for Entergy where he served as general manager, Siter vice president and president of several nuclear plans, his career with NMC and now as president of his own nuclear consulting business, Sellman Consulting Service.
The Rotary Club of Woodbury serves the community of South Washington County including Cottage Grove, Newport and St. Paul Park.
These meetings are open to the public and geared towards residents or business professionals working in these communities.
Rotary Club of Woodbury weekly breakfast meetings are held Thursday mornings from 7 to 8:15 a.m. at the Stonecrest Café, lower level of Stonecrest, 8725 Promenade Lane in Woodbury.
