No major damage in weekend storms

The winds were fierce and the rain was at times heavy, but no major damage was reported in Woodbury in the aftermath of two severe thunderstorms that blew through over the weekend.

Large storm systems that affected much of the Twin Cities Friday and Saturday evening arrived in Woodbury around 7:30 p.m. Friday and 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

911 dispatchers fielded calls for downed trees and a few localized power outages, but no major damage or injuries were reported as a result of the storms, Woodbury Public Safety officials said.
