The New Life Academy girls soccer team is off to a great start in 2011. With a record of 4-1-1 it has been a unique start with a unique squad. The team is led by its two seniors Kaitlyn Hawn and Taylor Paulson. However, this year, the Eagles are one of the youngest varsity squads it has ever had, according to head coach Lynn Atkinson.

"The team's youth have stepped up to meet the challenge," Atkinson said. "With returning starters Sarah Stacey and Chloe Westlund helping to develop the team, the younger girls have quickly adjusted to the speed and style of play the Eagles are looking to develop this year."

Additionally, said Atkinson, NLA's Emily Henderson has come on board to help solidify the defense and new comers Tatiana Lee, Stephanie Pohl, Tori Rogness, Sydney Steele and Carolyn Stacey have helped round out the young Eagles squad.

Most recently, New Life Academy beat West Lutheran 3-0 on Thursday, Sept. 8, on the road. Individual statistics were not made available.
