New Life Academy track & field: Otto finishes in style
Next fall, New Life Academy's Dan Otto will be attending the University of Wisconsin - Lacrosse and hopes to run track for the Eagles. But, before doing so he finished up some business for his current Eagles' squad.
Otto, a 2012 graduate, finished his high school career atop the podium in a pair of events at the Minnesota State Track and Field Meet, held June 8 and 9 at Hamline University in St. Paul. Otto earned third place in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 39.54 seconds and took fourth place in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15:41. Jordan senior Cody Pelowski won the 300 hurdles with a time of 38.84 and Fairmont senior Ryan Heuer won the 110s with a time of 14.99. Both of Otto's times broke his own school records and garnered All-State honors.
"Dan has worked extremely hard his senior year to get back to the state track meet and it paid huge dividends," NLA head coach Tim Otto said. "The coaches are extremely happy with his performances at state and he finished strong re-establishing his records in both events. Dan had a great track career at New Life."
