New Life Academy pianists play their way to honors
Several students in the New Life Academy school of fine arts recently competed in the annual Minnesota Music Teachers Association (MMTA) piano competition finals held at the University of Minnesota on March 14 and 15.
New Life students scoring highest in their division and earning the honor of performing in the MMTA Honors Concert May 30 at the University of Minnesota Northrup Auditorium are: Amanda Heidmann, Samuel Lee, Andrea Sunderman, Erin Bronson, Kelsey Mehus, Emily Nuehring, Matt Robey, and Matthew Sundquist.
More than 5,000 students state-wide enter the state piano contest annually.
The 700 pianists with the highest scores in the contest finals are selected to perform in the Honors Concert ensemble performance.
