The New Life Academy soccer team’s season came to an end in the Section 4A semifinals with a 5-2 loss to the Hill-Murray Pioneers on Tuesday, Oct. 15. Individual statistics were not made available.
New Life, the third seed in the section tournament, finished the year 16-2 overall and 7-1 in the Minnesota Christian Athletic Conference, which was good for second place. Hill-Murray, the section’s No. 2 seed, went on to beat top-seeded South St. Paul 3-2 in overtime in the final to qualify for the state tournament. New Life reached the section finals the past two seasons, but fell to South St. Paul both years.
New Life graduates five seniors from its roster – Chloe Westlund, Natalia Lee, Aislinn Kavanaugh, Tessa Homuth and Reagan Rice.
