Missing Minnesota teen and Wisconsin man may now be in Texas
Police now believe a missing Minnesota 17-year-old last seen in Red Wing and the Wisconsin man she's believed to be traveling with may be in Texas.
The Isanti County Sheriff's Office said Thursday that Christin Bernice Swenson's ATM card was used in Kilgore, Texas, and they have alerted the U.S. Border Patrol to be on the lookout for the pair.
Authorities were alerted Wednesday that a transaction was made with her ATM card in Kansas.
Isanti County authorities are awaiting surveillance tape from where the ATM card was used to confirm their suspicion that the first-cousins are still traveling together.
Authorities have been searching for Christin Swenson since Tuesday. She was last seen at the Econofoods in downtown Red Wing Monday night.
The 17-year-old is 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighing 105 pounds. She has blonde hair and brown eyes. She was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu four-door, pewter in color, with Minnesota license UGA 376.
Christin Swenson's mother, Mary Swenson of North Branch, Minn., told authorities her daughter works weekends in Red Wing. Police aren't sure where she stayed when in Red Wing.
Wade Swenson's last known address was N1368 790th St., Hager City. Lt. Dennis Sorenson of the Pierce County Sheriff's Department said they discovered Monday that Swenson had left his home.
The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said Christin Swenson was interviewed last week regarding an assault crime.
Meanwhile, Wade Swenson has three outstanding warrants from Pierce County, Sorenson said. Two of the warrants are for misdemeanors and one is for felony theft by fraud from February 2007.
