Maplewood Nature Center, 2659 Seventh Street East, Maplewood, will offer a program Saturday, Sept. 6 by Douglas Owens-Pike on ways to landscape around the house that will save energy.
Owens-Pike will also discuss methods to reduce stormwater runoff. He will share slides, design tips and plant species information on the best trees and shrubs for planting to provide summer cooling as well as wind protection in winter.
Attendees can bring a plan of their yard for review.
The program will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
The fee will be $5 per person, and must be pre-paid by Sept. 3.
