Local Muslims celebrate Ramadan

Muslims in the east metro continue to observe the fasting month of Ramadan this week, entering into the last 10 sacred days.

During the month, members of the Islamic Society of Woodbury take turns to host "iftar" dinners, or breaking of the fast meals, each weekend where about 200 people usually attend.

"Ramadan is about community," said Maher Mahmood, volunteer. "We want to do as much as we can for the community."
