Letter: A suggestion on the transit issue
Well, Julie Bunn and Kathy Saltzman are at it again.
Now they are advocating for state funds in addition to the Washington County money being proposed to finance a study and as Kathy states, to have communities shovel ready for the eventual transit service on our I-94 corridor.
Considering our state deficit, where do you suppose that money will come from? Does raising your taxes ring a bell? This may be a too simple solution, but it's free.
Take that money and some of last year's DFL $6.6 billion tax increase and add two or more additional traffic lanes in both directions and start a proper express bus service with adequate park and ride facilities.
That will greatly relieve the congestion problem and should satisfy the public transportation nuts.
