Letter to the editor: Johnson was mindful of district’s budget
Regarding the upcoming District 833 school board election, I would remind voters that two of the three incumbents spent several thousand district dollars in an unnecessary search for a new superintendent. Tracy Brunnette and David Kemper were part of the school board that decided Mark Porter should not be renewed as superintendent.
Laurie Johnson voted to keep Porter and, thus, not waste taxpayer money. The reason for this needless expenditure of our money was never publically revealed; they hid behind the “it’s best for the students” mantra. I will be voting for Laurie Johnson; my other votes will go to newcomers who care about how our tax money is spent.
