Holiday Lights in the Park is back
For the third year running a million-light idea co-founded by a local church is raising thousands of dollars for charity.
King of Kings Lutheran Church in Woodbury is once again in partnership with IBEW Holiday Lights in the Park, a drive-along Christmas lights and music display at Phalen Park, 1615 Phalen Drive E., St. Paul.
The display features 50 larger-than-life holiday light sculptures and animated displays to be viewed from the comfort of your car.
Many of the volunteers from King of Kings and the surrounding community will be on hand to welcome people to the event running through Dec. 31. Daily tours are from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Sightseers will pay a vehicle entrance fee of $8, Sundays through Thursdays, and $10 on Fridays, Saturdays and holidays.
All net proceeds of the event are donated to Second Harvest Heartland, Union Gospel Mission, St. Paul Parks Conservancy Foundation and UnderConstruction--charities focused on fundamental community needs such as food, shelter, education and the environment.
