Griswold will perform at Veteran's Aid Concert
Matt Griswold of Woodbury will host a Memorial Day "Veteran's Aid Concert 2010" Monday, May 31 at The Fine Line Music Café, Minneapolis. All proceeds will benefit the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans, a 501(c)3 non profit organization.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the show will start at 7 p.m. Admission is $8, or free with a Military/DOD ID Card.
The council deals directly with veterans in times of crisis and homelessness. Funds will be used to reach out to veterans and their families as a way to assist in the reintegration challenges that most veterans are faced with when emerging back into civilian society.
Griswold is an Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran, singer-songwriter and veteran's activist who served 5-years of active duty with the U.S. Army.
All musicians in the show are local Minnesota artists who are donating their time and talent. Performers include Troi Atkinson, a 10-year naval veteran and Navy SEAL, Nolan James, Nick Hensley of Love Songs For Angry Men, Deluge, The Oh Eeks, and Matthew Griswold and his Exotic Ambiance Project.
Griswold hopes the event will raise $2,000 as well as awareness of the many issues concerning veteran's affairs and welfare.
