Grand night for singing and eating
Woodbury Community Theatre (WCT) is partnering with Axel's at Prestwick to produce "A Grand Night for Singing," a musical dinner theater on Feb. 13, 14 and 15.
The public is invited to enjoy the food and ambience of Axel's at Prestwick, along with classic songs by Rodgers and Hammerstein, performed by the WCT.
Christopher Teipner directs the performance, a fresh take on the Rodgers and Hammerstein canon conceived by Tony Award winner Walter Bobbie, and produced locally by Lenore Weir with music director Lisa Diesslin.
The cast and crew includes residents from Cottage Grove, Stillwater and Woodbury and the surrounding east metro area. Cast members are Erica Berglund, Brent Berheim, Cyndi Sturtz, John Sturtz and Melissa Swigart.
Performances are Friday, Feb. 13 and Saturday, Feb. 14, with dinner at 7 p.m. and show at 8 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 15, with lunch at 1 p.m. and show at 2 p.m.
All dinner theater performances take place at Axel's at Prestwick, Prestwick Golf Club, 9555 Wedgewood Drive, Woodbury.
Reserved seating tickets are $45 per person and include the show, a buffet plus the gratuity, with the following menu: Axel's "Bull Bites" blackened tenderloin tips, dijon-crusted chicken breast, carmelized onion mashed potatoes, green beans, garden salad, ciabatta dinner rolls and a dessert platter.
