U.S. Sen. Al Franken dropped a puck and left Woodbury hockey players chuckling Thursday during a visit to Bielenberg Ice Arena.

Franken, DFL-Minn., was at the ice arena for a ceremonial puck drop prior to the Royals' game against Roseville.

Before the drop, Franken chatted briefly with Woodbury players inside Bielenberg's new locker rooms and jokingly reminded captain Evan Erickson not to spring into action during the ceremonial event -- a quip that elicited laughs from players.

"Might happen," Erickson joked back.

See the attached video for Franken's full speech to the players and Erickson.
