Fourth of July parade sees bumper turnout
Thousands lined St. Croix Trail to watch Afton's annual Fourth of July parade on Friday.
And it was standing room only when the parade started off south through the Old Village, before turning around by the city park and parading back once again.
Led by Washington County Sheriff Bill Hutton and the Scout troop of Afton, the parade included a number of vintage cars, horses, dogs, displays by public businesses, Santa Claus, a potter spinning on his wheel (from Mudslinger Pottery) -- and even a porta-potty which was towed along by a truck.
